Getting To Dunoon

By Car

The A82 and A83 connects Glasgow and Inveraray via the Rest and Be Thankful pass. A few miles west of the pass (or east if you're coming from Inveraray), turn south onto the A815. Alternatively take the M8 west from Glasgow towards Gourock, where you can catch a ferry to Dunoon.

By Ferry

Regular services from Gourock are run by Western Ferries for cars and Argyll Ferries for foot passengers.

By Train

A regular Scotrail service from Glasgow Central serves Gourock. The train station is right next to the Argyll Ferries terminal, and it's possible to buy a joint train and ferry ticket.

By Bus

West Coast Motors provide regular services to the area.

Accommodation in Dunoon

There are plenty of accommodation options in and around Dunoon. Go to Visit Cowal to find out more.

Certificates

Each film in the programme has a certificate from U (Universal) to 18 (over 18s only). It is a legal requirement to observe this certification. PG indicates Parental Guidance - PG films are not suitable for children under 8 years of age. A 12A certificate requires that children under 12 are accompanied by an adult.

Any film not already certificated by the British Board of Film Classification has been given a suggested certificate, which we will treat as legally binding.

How to buy tickets

All tickets are £5, unless stated otherwise in the programme listing. Tickets go on sale from Tuesday 4 October.

When booking tickets online, you will receive a booking reference - please bring this to the screening venue to collect your ticket. You are not required to print anything.

Please note, online tickets are subject to a booking fee of 50p per ticket, which goes to the company providing the service.

Online ticket sales will close three hours before each screening, after which time tickets will only be available from the screening venue.

Buy tickets in person

From Tuesday 4 October you can buy tickets in person at the Dunoon Burgh Hall Pop-Up Shop between 12pm and 4pm Tuesdays to Saturdays. Cash or cheque payment only. During the festival weekend the box office will be open from 10am until the last film begins.

You can also buy tickets from the Studio Cinema or Pier building during the festival before each film starts.
